The Artius oregano comes from the slopes of Volos, harvested 1500m above sea level. Oregano is a culinary herb, used for the flavour of its leaves. It has long been a staple of Mediterranean cooking and is characterized by an aromatic and slightly bitter taste.

It is a fragrant herb in the mint family and it was first used by the Ancient Greeks and later popularized by the Ancient Romans when they conquered the Greeks.

Oregano is the most popular Mediterranean herb and the most popular condiment of the Greek cuisine. 

It is mostly used to flavor lamb, however it is magnificent in a Greek salad, as well as the perfect sauce when mixed with extra virgin olive oil and lemon to serve with fish.
